Hello friends,
Yesterday was National Public Lands Day, and I spent a few hours of it with 120 or so other volunteers pulling English ivy from the southern reaches of Forest Park.
If you've followed this newsletter for any amount of time, you know that Forest Park is one of my special places—I've even walked the length of it on the Wildwood Trail. The park, a 5,200-acre urban forest that stretches along Portland's West Hills, is sacred to many people in this city.
